Who is the the best REALTOR in Calgary?

As an insider in the real estate industry for over 10 years I have been asked more than once by friends, family and colleagues who I think is the best real estate agent in Calgary.

This question came up recently when my husband and I decided to buy our next home this past month (fun to pick a new home – NOT fun to do the moving! This must be why people statistically move about every 5 years, it takes them that long to forget how awful and tiring it is!)

For me, choosing the right agent was easy, as I work inside the office of the Tanya Eklund Group and I honestly respect and esteem Tanya. I am also lucky to have my eldest daughter Amy working as an agent for Tanya’s group – so I know that I will be well looked after!

But what about the rest of the Calgarians out there looking for the same service and not knowing where to turn?

After consulting for many agents, managing a brokerage and instructing at CREB, I have my top picks for agents who I would refer to you if I wanted to make sure you got the same extraordinary service that I did when you buy or sell your next property.

But first I think it is important for you to ask yourself what kind of service you are truly looking for? For as many different agents are in the city, there are as many different preferences.

Some people want assertive negotiating, others might want exact research. You may want a friendly, happy agent while others could care less about personality.

Personally my top three recommendations for amazing Agents in Calgary would be:

1) Tanya Eklund and her group – I really appreciate the whole team’s assertive style & quick communication. I hate having to wait for people to get back to me.

2) Jonathan Popowich – Jonathan specializes on the west side and even rural properties. He has such a nice demeanor it is a pleasure working with him. As well, he has experience as a builder so knows quite a lot about the quality of custom built homes.

3) Halyna Tataryn – Halyna is passionate about getting her buyers really good value, finding hidden gems and she loves the architecture of historic homes. If you want an agent who has her ear to the ground and can feature unique properties she might be a good fit!

If you are looking for your own real estate agent to get your home sold or help you find your next property I would highly suggest meeting 3 or 4 different agents and seeing who you like best and who suits your needs. If you are looking for an agent who dominates a certain neighborhood or if you need a commercial agent, I am always happy to pass along the names of other highly regarded REALTORS(R) .
